Shaker Style Night Table

NIGHT TABLE
Motivated to learn the properties and working characteristics of wood and hand tools as well as the different joinery techniques, I, in a time frame of 10 weeks, built a night table inspired in the Shaker's building methods and style.

For this night table, I used assembly techniques such as Tongue-and-groove and Mortise-and-tenon joint. On the table top, I engraved (usign a laser cutter), a Hibiscus and to enhance the table's detailes, trying to keeping it simple, I tapered each side of the four legs.
